Fussy’s mission is to banish single-use plastic from the bathroom. After previously working together, they approached us to bring the same thinking to body wash. Instead of disposable bottles, the system uses a reusable outer and aluminium refills that can be infinitely recycled and easily reloaded. The goal was simple, create a pump that is clean, fun and premium, while making reuse visible, enjoyable and genuinely better for the planet.

We started with people, understanding how body wash is actually used in the shower. Together with the Fussy team, we mapped real behaviours: how bottles are held with wet hands, how pumps are pressed at different angles and how refills are replaced mid-routine. That research shaped every decision that followed. Material selection came next. Aluminium became the backbone of the system, a lightweight, durable and endlessly recyclable material able to protect the formula without plastic. It gave the product a sense of recyclability rather than disposability.
From there, we prototyped continuously. Models were built to fine-tune the ergonomics, pumping force and tactile feedback. The goal was a motion that feels smooth, clean and dependable every single time.

Building on the visual brand language of Fussy, the body wash pump needed to feel instantly part of the family, playful, clean and simple. We kept the colour palette vibrant and optimistic, echoing Fussy’s brand voice. The outer bottle is made from tinted PET, transparent so the aluminium refill can be seen inside, a quiet nod to the sustainability story rather than a label. Surface finish was just as considered. A fine matte texture wraps the body to give a premium, tactile feel that is grippy even with wet hands. Soft curves and gentle radii run throughout, mirroring the silhouette of the original Fussy deodorant. No sharp edges, no excess, just a form that feels friendly, familiar and quietly functional in the shower.

More importantly, the design reframes sustainable choice as something visible and engaging. By putting the refill centre stage, every shower becomes a reminder that small rituals can add up to meaningful change. The pump strips away the clutter of throwaway packaging and replaces it with a tactile, transparent system that feels intentional, hygienic, and proof that reuse can be an upgrade.
